Homeopathy for acute food poisoning

Food poisoning is one of the most common illnesses. Roughly one out of every 6 Americans will get food poisoning a year. Many of these people will end up hospitalized. Prevention of food-borne illness is of utmost importance, but what can we do if we do get food poisoning? Let’s talk symptoms and then we can get down to what homeopathic remedies help alleviate these nasty attacks of food poisoning.

The symptoms of food poisoning generally come on within the first couple of hours after eating a contaminated food. The symptoms come on fast and include: nausea, vomiting, watery diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever.

When you first realize you have food poisoning, take activated charcoal capsules. NOT to be mistaken for  charcoal from the grill.  They sell activated charcoal capsules at health food stores and local pharmacies. Charcoal works by trapping toxins in a process called adsorbing. Be sure to take charcoal 2 hours BEFORE or after any supplements or medications because it will adsorb them as well. This occurs when there is a reaction of elements including nutrients, chemicals and toxins.  Charcoal will soak up toxins and foods and move them through the bloodstream to be removed through the Gastrointestinal tract.  Hospitals use activated charcoal to adsorb drugs in patients that overdose on drugs.

I have experienced food poisoning first hand, and let me tell you, it is NO JOKE.  I thought I was dying. The symptoms hit me so hard and fast. The burning stomach pain, diarrhea, and nonstop vomiting brought me to my knees. I was praying for some miracle. That miracle happened to be the homeopathic remedy Arsenicum Album. Within a few hours of taking the remedy, I was feeling better and back on my feet and able to hold down liquids and caring for my children.

I am providing a list of some of the common remedies used for food poisoning. This list is not exhaustive of all the remedies that could be used. There are literally thousands of remedies and too many to list. These are common remedies that are usually available at your local health food store.
